Hello, we are Gary and Norma McClelland from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
I am the son of Jack and Jessie McClelland and grew up on the Matador Co-op Farm. I was twelve years old when our family moved away at the end of 1959. I have a lot of fond memories of the Matador and would like to document as much information as I can on the Matador. There is a lot of history here and I believe it should be documented and recorded for historical purposes. Much of the information on this website came from information, photos and articles that my parents had. Because we moved away at the end of 1959, I am missing a lot of information on the farm after that time.
To date, I have not been able to find any single document that gives a detailed overview on life at the Matador. There are a few archived newspaper articles and other information at the Saskatchewan Archives, but the most important source of information will come from the children who grew up on the Matador. There are likely all kinds of photos and personal stories on life at the Matador.
If you grew up on the Matador, I would like to here from you. Your information will be instrumental in putting together some type of historical document on the farm.
